Information is any Information is the layer that perceiving agents interact with. This layer includes both: 1. Information generated from perceiving external reality 2. Information generated internally by the agent itself A perceiving agent can be any system capable of detection - from biological organisms to artificial sensors. For example: - A human's information layer includes both sensory data about the world AND internally generated thoughts, memories, emotions - A computer's information layer includes both sensor inputs AND internally generated states, intermediate calculations, stored data - Even a simple thermostat has both external readings AND internal reference points it generates In all cases, the agent is not directly interacting with 'raw reality' but with an information layer - one that's partly derived from reality and partly generated from within. Information can be thought of in discrete units. # ============= 2024-12-14: [[Information 0.1 (Preview)]]
